Christine Grabowski – Women and Mushing

| October 21, 2014 | 0 Comments

FullSizeRenderChristine is from Conklin, Michigan, and moved to the Upper Peninsula 23 years ago to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Her love for dogs began young as her father raised hunting beagles throughout her childhood.

She began as a recreational musher several years ago. Her children worked for a musher who adopted retired sled dogs from mushing kennels in Alaska. She currently works for this retired musher and really enjoys taking care of these athletes. Christine volunteers at a local stage race as a handler. Her hobbies include running, gardening, traveling, and she is very passionate about mushing. Her recent trips to Alaska has further whetted her appetite for racing sled dogs. Her weakness is the “Refresh” during the Iditarod and Yukon Quest, and she could wear out a computer or phone.

Christine recently retired from the Michigan State Police after 27 years of service in law enforcement. She is mother to three teenage children and married to her husband, who is a police officer.
