Although I was born and raised amid the hustle and bustle and grinding lifestyle of New York City, my true journey began in 2012. It was then that I finally had an opportunity to achieve my childhood dream of trading in my concrete jungle surroundings for that of a more favorable jungle- those of the rain-drenched temperate rainforests of Southeast Alaska. Since then, every day I have lived and breathed everything that is Alaska. Whether it be ice climbing, sea kayaking, hunting, fishing, glacier traversing, dog sledding, bear viewing, pack-rafting, multi week-long wilderness expeditions, or simply learning the subsistence culture and history of Southeast Alaska from the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian native tribe members, Alaska has so much to offer.

Southeast Alaska is a land like no other, as small towns cling precariously to small pockets of flat land sandwiched between towering ice-capped mile high mountains and the wave-beaten shores of the unforgiving Pacific Ocean. And it is from these small stretches of land that I record my journeys and adventures for others to read as I continue to search for the “Real Alaskan” I’m hoping to spark an interest within others to help and protect one of the last great wildernesses left in the world…Alaska.

Heard about your mag at last fall’s sled dog symposium in Contoocook, NH. My only excuse in the delay in subscribing is all the time I’ve spent w/ the pups this winter!!
